Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Lifelong Learning Institute in Chesterfield (LLI) affirms its commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace. This policy applies to all employees and volunteers engaged in LLI activities.

A. Statement of Prohibition
LLI strictly prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of any controlled substance in the workplace. Violations will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service.

B. Drug-Free Awareness Program
LLI maintains an ongoing drug-free awareness program to educate employees and volunteers about:

• The dangers of drug abuse in the workplace
• LLI’s commitment to a drug-free environment
• Available counseling, rehabilitation, and assistance resources
• Penalties for workplace drug violations

C. Distribution of Policy
All employees and volunteers engaged in the performance of this Agreement will receive a copy of this policy statement.

D. Conditions of Employment and Volunteer Service
As a condition of engagement under this Agreement, each employee and volunteer must:

• Abide by the terms of this policy.
• Notify LLI in writing within five calendar days of any conviction for a criminal drug statute violation occurring in the workplace.
